St. Luke's Mariner's Cross

  Reverend's Reflections

Dear People of God at St. Luke's,

I greet you in the midst of Lent. We have spent time during the week meeting together to discuss how we know the presence of God in the middle of life-our work and homes. By Word and Deed:

Hearing How God is Present in Daily Lives

This Lent we are inviting parishioners who are in specific fields to discuss how they know their spiritual selves are enlivened and fed by their lives during the middle of the week. All parishioners are invited to attend and to hear and discuss this interesting topic. Each meeting will be held at St. Luke's from 7 PM to 8:30 PM (unless designated otherwise in the listing below).

April 5 : A Time & A Season For Everything Under the Sun: Inviting all retirees to discuss what happens to our understanding of who we are when we no longer measure part of our worth by the job we hold or the money we make.

April 10:  Parenting and God: a discussion following the 10 AM service to reflect on the challenges, blessings and opportunities of being a parent. Child care provided. Pizza for kids; pick up luncheon food for adults.

April 12 :God in the Marketplace: Parishioners who employ people- facing the challenges of running a business and relating to employees as the neighbor Jesus tells us to love.

Survey for Capital Campaign

A Capital Campaign is a targeted request for financial commitment for big projects which are not annual, things such as replacing boilers, roofs. A Capital Campaign Committee has worked for the last year to define needs and hopes for a possible upcoming Campaign.

Now each household is asked to respond to a survey. Most will receive an email request for an electronic survey (one per household, so we ask that you be on the lookout); those who do not receive email will get a copy in the mail. A few households will be asked to speak directly with our fund raising consultant.

Please fill out the survey so we know what we might expect in eventual pledges. This survey is informational only; it is not a commitment or pledge.
